Another day....another ER...

DANGIT!  Well....for those living under a rock or didn't see the Facebook post.....I went to the ER last night......again........  :'|

Since last Thursday I thought I had a little bug.  Nothing coming out the top end but definitely the bottom and....it was not fun...I'll just leave it at that.

Yesterday I had done a whole bunch of work up at church.  I cleaned out, sanitized and organized ALL my Kidcreek rooms.  It was quite the work out because I had to get it all done before kid pick up....I was booking it.  Felt fine all day.  Came home and was doing computer work and started hurting.  Didn't think anything of it after all the work I'd done.  Michael came in and had to get Brody to practice so I started dinner (which was FAB but I won't eat it again....HA!).  Chicken, Penne pasta, bacon and sun dried tomatoes.  The sauce was 1/2 and 1/2 and grated Parmesan cheese.  Nothing out of the ordinary....maybe the sun dried tomatoes but I've had those before, just not in a while.

Michael took the kids and they took off towards football practice.  The Wylie fields were shut because of rain so he had to go pretty far off which is not the usual.  I ate my dinner and about 30 minutes later....I could tell...something was wrong.  Am I going to puke?  Do I need to go the other way?  Why is my chest hurting?  It went from 0 pain to a 10+ in a matter of 5 minutes.  It was a deep pressure PAIN at the base of my chest, above my stomach in the middle.  Got on the phone with Michael and I was crying and screaming.  Now listen....I don't do this.  I don't EVER lose control to that degree.  I have a very high tolerance to pain since I live with it to a degree each day but this was off the charts and I would take it beyond childbirth type pain.  So here I am screaming and crying.  The screaming was helping me breath better...not sure why.  It gets so intense I think I'm going to pass out....but I get in the car and start driving myself to the ER.

Michael has since yanked Brody off the field and is now on his way coming from the other direction.  He won't let me off the phone and he's driving hands free so the kids heard every horrible part of the whole drive and it wasn't pretty.  I was crying out to God, I was BAWLING and screaming in pain.  Brody crumbled and sweet Raina held his hand and told him it was ok.  Michael was just focused on getting me there so he was in "talk calmly to Jayme mode" but he did yell a couple times when I wouldn't calm down.  I'll let him pass on that one ;P

I pull in and honk my horn over and over...but nothing.  So I get out and get to the front desk extremely hysterical and hunched over in pain and they ask for my ID.....  :|  I beg her to help me and nothing.  Guy finally comes and gets me...well first they need urine.  I don't know what your body does when you're in pain....but they got about a dribble and that's being generous.  They get me on the bed, hooking an IV in and BP cuff and Heart Monitor but still nothing to help me with this pain.  Only telling me to breath.... :|  I'm BAWLING...I'm moaning and screaming, I'm trying to get off the bed and kicking my legs.  Again....this is not me but I didn't care.  I was in pain and they weren't doing anything about it.

My pulse was crazy high, blood pressure was high.....hmmmm...wonder why?  FINALLY they come in with a narcotic in my IV and GI cocktail.  ......nothing.  Not even a dent!  They're preparing me for the CT but my pain level is still a 10+ so they put some anti inflammatory in my IV for spasms.  Nothing.....get into the CT room and he's telling me to be still.  At this point I'm still a 7-8 on pain scale.  He injects the contrast and my throat started itching violently.  Gets me back on my bed and is wheeling me back to room and I can't breath.  FULL ON asthma attack due to a reaction to the contrast.  WHAT?!?!   So Michael's very firmly telling them I can't breath and I'm still crying.

So they start a breathing treatment immediately.  Pain is still high and he comes in with Benadryl for the reaction and Diludid for the continued pain.  I'm doing the breathing treatment as he puts that in and immediate relief....?!?!?!  Why didn't they try that first?!?!?  So now the asthma attack is back on track and I can finally breath AND the pain is gone....  Oh my gosh.  Praise Jesus!  That was an INTENSE couple hours.

Final verdict....Inner Colitis - fluid in my small and large intestine.  White blood cell count was up and I had a cyst on my spleen.  What the heck?!  I was completely ok 4 hours ago....I do not understand my body :(

Went to my new Dr. today....and Internist and LOVED her.  She has asked more question than my PCP and GI Dr.'s have combined in the last 8 years.  TONS of blood was taken and she's running the gamete of blood panels.  She's looking for things NEVER looked at.  Without blood but hearing all these ER trips and all these issues...she felt it sounded like Abdominal migraines with a possibility of food allergy.  So I'm off dairy for a month.  I don't think dairy bothers me...but....we'll see.  Finally...something besides "You have IBS" and sends you on your way.  If you've been told you have IBS...that's code for, "I don't know WHAT'S wrong but I have to say something!" in Dr. talk.

SO.....here I am....41 days until surgery and I've had to be put on Blood Pressure medicine rather suddenly and now an ER visit for MORE GI issues.  I'm ready for surgery......I'm ready.  EVERY Dr. or nurse I've come in contact with in the last 24 hours have ALL agreed...the surgery will help all of this.  I'm ready.....no more anxiety....lets do this!

Goals for 2020

So after thinking through this for a while, I've decided to bring this back into my life.  I love to write, I love to express myself and share recipes.  SO...this blog may not always look pretty...it might get messy, because that's life, and I'm too old to pretend it's not.   Goals for 2020: To continue to search for what feeds my soul and not harms it. I'm going to keep up with my health goals and make it another year of weight maintenance.  Walking starts again.  Not about needing to lose, I like everything a bit tighter.  So there you go.  I'm not athletic, I do not LIKE working out.  But I do like walking because of the moment to take a breath and enjoy being outside and listening to good music 💓 I wanted to commit to living my truth...if I say be kind...that means I have to drop some guards and also do just that.  There's been a couple relationships over the years that I wanted to circle back to this year.  Both hav...

Award Winning Salsa

Well…it won an award in my family 🤣 This blog has seen MANY salsa recipes. I LOVE salsa. I’m always trying to perfect my recipe so I tried some different things yesterday and BAM….I mean wowza BAM!!!! Jayme’s Award Winning 😉 Salsa 2lbs Tomatillo, husked and washed and halved 2 Jalapeño, washed, halved, seeded if you’re a wuss.  1 Serrano, washed, remove stem 1 red onion, quartered 1 Lg Tomato 1 Bunch Cilantro 2 Tbs minced garlic  Salt  On a large baking sheet lay out your tomatillos, peppers and onion. Cover the bottom of the pan Chicken stock or water. I also drizzled a little olive oil.  Put in a 350 oven for 75-90 minutes.  Let cool down a bit and throw everything in a food processor.  Holy. Moly. Very restaurant like. Maybe a Cantina Laredo or Haciendas Ranch feel to it. So. Good.  I like it warm so when I go to get it out of the fridge, I just throw in the microwave for a sec.  SO good!

Perpetual diets and a soul change....

I feel like all my life, I've been on a perpetual diet.  Seriously.  Pretty much every day of my life has been a choice.  Some days/months/years I do great.  Others....not so much. I've never been one of those girls.  You know...the ones that always just pulled it off.  Looks, weight, clothes.  Nope.  That is not me.  I've also always had skinny friends.  They ate the same things as me...but I'd notice on me and never on them.  I think I've always aspired in some way to be each of them.  Hell, maybe they keep me in check so I don't ever let myself go to much?  That's some deep thinking stuff! What a funny life.  Then, I had my jaw surgery.  Long recovery.  Long, hard, painful recovery.  I think I just gave myself a pass for the last couple of years.  Because I can tell you...I hadn't been too worried about my weight since then. So.  I had a picture taken of me on August 17th.  As ...
