25 Things....about Michael

My old friend Alicia that I grew up with in Allen has a couple blogs she tends to. First one is a group blog she shares with other women called Today's Housewife (http://todayshousewife.blogspot.com/). I have really come to enjoy all of their entries and thinks everyone should take a look. She also keeps a personal blog and I relate to this one more - mainly because I know Alicia but I seriously find her wit, humor and approach to life as a daily inspiration. I come on every morning and read through all my blog updates and find that hers make me smile the most some days.

She took cue from what was going around Facebook, your 25 Random things about yourself and turned it into 25 random things she loved about her husband. I read it this morning and loved the idea but when you're chasing twins around - most things are lovely ideas but never reached. Ha ha! I have some time and loved her idea...so I'm following cue :D Thanks Alicia ;)

1. He never takes anything to seriously - he will find the humor in any situation (most of the time that's good and he's learned my moods - so he knows when it's appropriate or or when it's not...good quality)

2. He's uplifting to be around

3. He's constantly positive - never negative about anything

4. He tells me daily (sometimes more than multiple times a day) how beautiful I am or how lucky he is.

5. No matter the day he's had, he makes it a point to sit down with the kids and do whatever they want - even before he's changed out of work clothes.

6. He's sensitive and is open to show me his feelings (which I LOVE)

7. He believes that marriage is forever.

8. He's one of the most supportive people I've ever met in my life

9. He has my back - always.

10. He would go to the ends of the earth to make sure I was happy in every aspect of my life

11. He's never met a stranger

12. Intimately as a couple - he's anything and everything I could ever want

13. He's strikingly handsome.

14. He has the most gorgeous smile

15. He holds me accountable

16. He has a compassionate heart

17. He constantly praises my cooking

18. He's as bad of a reality TV junkie as I am

19. He gives THE BEST hugs ever

20. He helped make some beautiful babies

21. He respects his Mom - he treats her like gold and I found that to be very important starting out. How a man treats his Mom is how he'll treat his wife and daughter.

22. He loves and would do anything for my parents. He is their 3rd son!

23. He's brilliant!

24. He loves to play games with me - card games and board games are a good night in for us :)

25. He's my best friend and loves me in spite of all my faults.

Goals for 2020

So after thinking through this for a while, I've decided to bring this back into my life.  I love to write, I love to express myself and share recipes.  SO...this blog may not always look pretty...it might get messy, because that's life, and I'm too old to pretend it's not.   Goals for 2020: To continue to search for what feeds my soul and not harms it. I'm going to keep up with my health goals and make it another year of weight maintenance.  Walking starts again.  Not about needing to lose, I like everything a bit tighter.  So there you go.  I'm not athletic, I do not LIKE working out.  But I do like walking because of the moment to take a breath and enjoy being outside and listening to good music 💓 I wanted to commit to living my truth...if I say be kind...that means I have to drop some guards and also do just that.  There's been a couple relationships over the years that I wanted to circle back to this year.  Both hav...

Award Winning Salsa

Well…it won an award in my family 🤣 This blog has seen MANY salsa recipes. I LOVE salsa. I’m always trying to perfect my recipe so I tried some different things yesterday and BAM….I mean wowza BAM!!!! Jayme’s Award Winning 😉 Salsa 2lbs Tomatillo, husked and washed and halved 2 Jalapeño, washed, halved, seeded if you’re a wuss.  1 Serrano, washed, remove stem 1 red onion, quartered 1 Lg Tomato 1 Bunch Cilantro 2 Tbs minced garlic  Salt  On a large baking sheet lay out your tomatillos, peppers and onion. Cover the bottom of the pan Chicken stock or water. I also drizzled a little olive oil.  Put in a 350 oven for 75-90 minutes.  Let cool down a bit and throw everything in a food processor.  Holy. Moly. Very restaurant like. Maybe a Cantina Laredo or Haciendas Ranch feel to it. So. Good.  I like it warm so when I go to get it out of the fridge, I just throw in the microwave for a sec.  SO good!

Perpetual diets and a soul change....

I feel like all my life, I've been on a perpetual diet.  Seriously.  Pretty much every day of my life has been a choice.  Some days/months/years I do great.  Others....not so much. I've never been one of those girls.  You know...the ones that always just pulled it off.  Looks, weight, clothes.  Nope.  That is not me.  I've also always had skinny friends.  They ate the same things as me...but I'd notice on me and never on them.  I think I've always aspired in some way to be each of them.  Hell, maybe they keep me in check so I don't ever let myself go to much?  That's some deep thinking stuff! What a funny life.  Then, I had my jaw surgery.  Long recovery.  Long, hard, painful recovery.  I think I just gave myself a pass for the last couple of years.  Because I can tell you...I hadn't been too worried about my weight since then. So.  I had a picture taken of me on August 17th.  As ...
